  • WFMR Is Up and Running

    Posted: July 19th 2021 @2:19 PM

After a bit more than a week of down time, our transmitter at 91.3 in Orleans is back to full strength. Thanks to everyone for your patience.

There has been an increase in positive COVID-19 cases and individuals reporting COVID-like symptoms in Provincetown. COVID-19 infection has occurred in both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.

Based on this information, public health authorities from the Provincetown Select Board, Provincetown Board of Health, and the Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment urge the public to take reasonable precautions.

    • Get tested if you’ve been exposed or have symptoms associated with COVID-19, even if your symptoms are mild. Exposure is considered having contact within 6ft of an infected individual for a total of 15 minutes or more.
    • Stay home from work if you are having symptoms associated with COVID-19 and get tested. Under Mass. law, employers are required to make paid leave time available to employees for COVID-related illness, quarantine, and vaccination.
    • Get vaccinated. The vaccine is the best way to prevent severe or life-threatening symptoms of COVID-19.
    • Masks are required indoors at all times.
    • All unvaccinated individuals, including children under 12, are required to wear masks outdoors when social distancing is not possible and in indoor public spaces, per CDC guidelines.
    • Masks are mandatory for everyone on public and private transportation (including rideshares, livery, taxis, ferries, MBTA, Commuter Rail and transportation stations), and in healthcare facilities

Testing will be conducted at Veterans Memorial Community Center parking lot at 2 Mayflower Street, Provincetown (off Winslow Street) daily through Friday August 13 from 10am-3pm. COVID-19 testing is free and does not require an appointment.

Free testing and vaccination is also available through Outer Cape Health Services in Provincetown. Individuals seeking testing and/or vaccination can call 508-905-2888 to schedule a test.

Assistance is available for residents and visitors who test positive and need to quarantine.

Apparently the excitement of free-form community radio was just too much for our transmitter in Orleans. It blew a gasket and is out of commission until our engineer can apply some TLC. Thank you for your patience.

92.1 FM and the live stream are up and running for your listening pleasure.
