“Gulf Coast and Beyond” with Deborah Flame airs the second Sunday of the month from 6-9 p.m., featuring traditional and contemporary Cajun, Zydeco and Creole music as heard in Louisiana, Texas and throughout the world.
You can learn about upcoming dances and festivals in the New England area, including dance instruction. I also highlight Cajun and Zydeco groups from New England. As a long-time listener to WOMR, I was moved to host a show to share this upbeat, high energy music and my appreciation for the French and African peoples who create and play this music to sustain their spirits and their culture.
Merci beaucoup! From 8-9 p.m., African musicians, whose music has influenced what we know as Zydeco music today, are featured.
