Fall Fundraiser
The Fall Fundraiser, than began on Friday, November 26, at 6am, and ran until 6pm on Sunday, December 11, once again fell short of reaching its goal.  However, since we have broken the drive up into components, we may indeed get close to reaching the goal over the next six weeks.   We took in about $1200 dollars before the drive actually began, and the on air portion produced about $29,010.  Fortunately, we inaugurated a mailing before the drive this fall, which brought in, at this writing, over $11,000.  Cards from the mailing are still dribbling in.  The Soft Sell, which started after the drive officially ended, and involves just one pitch per show, has netted over $2500.  The total, as of today, Wednesday, at 7am, is $44,871.  Fortunately, Lady Di raised almost $4000 over three shows; Dennis Allee raised $3115 in one show; and T pulled in over $2700 in one show, about a third of the entire on air total.  Carol Courneen added $1600 over two shows, and Julian Jackson, Rich Willecke, and Beth O’Rourke, working with Matty, all raised around $1000 each.  The fall fundraiser continues to be a huge challenge, however, and problems meeting the goal will result this next year in moving all three on air drives up two weeks in the calendar.  That way, there will be the same space between the drives, but the fall drive will be over before Thanksgiving.

Repeater Calendar
Remember: we are still running the repeater calendar fundraiser. Anyone can purchase a day for $150 that will run the repeater for a day. On that day, we will say that WFMR 91.3 Orleans is brought to you by the generosity of the person who has purchased that day. We are suggesting birthdays, partners’ birthdays, children, pets; for DJs, their show, and for business owners, their business. Buy a day for your own program. Buy a day for your business. We will be beginning to push this, so if you know anyone who is looking for a unique gift to give themselves or a loved one, suggest “Run WFMR 91.3 for a Day”.

Comings and Goings
Indira Ganesan, who has been subbing the 6-9am shift on Monday mornings, was assigned the spot permanently by the Program Committee.  She will be alternating with Tom Brogan, who was given the slot opposite her on alternating weeks, moving from his midnight to 2am slot, much earlier Monday mornings.  Richard Kelley was given the 6-9am Wednesday morning slot opposite Tony Pasquale.  After a short time away for personal reasons, Yankee Dave will be returning to his 9pm to Midnight slot on Wednesday evenings, beginning Wednesday, January 4th.  Kevin and Amanda, who have been having problems covering their alternate weeks opposite Steve Milkewicz on Sunday nights from 9pm to Midnight, petitioned the Program Committee to reduce their responsibilities to once a month in the same time slot.  But the Program Committee, who in the past had denied Steve’s request for a weekly show, decided to grant it this time.  So Kevin and Amanda are off the air, for now, and Steve Milkewicz will be doing the Sunday night slot every week.

Annual Meeting
A fine group of about 60 supporters of WOMR/WFMR joined us at Napi's Restaurant in Provincetown on Saturday, November 19th, for the Annual Meeting of the Corporation of Lower Cape Communications, Inc. Both bylaw additions finally passed and will be added to the current bylaws. We wished three current members of the Board who did not seek reelection well and thanked them for their years of service to WOMR. They were Robena Malicoat, T Gandolfo, and John Guerra.  Six new members were elected to the Board and two current Board members were reelected. Dave Cole and Chuck Cole both returned to the Board. Newly elected members included DJs Bob Weiser and Carol Courneen as well as Terry Ryder, Gary Delius, Susan Blood, and Patty DeLuca.   The President’s nominations to serve on the 2012 Nominating Committee were also accepted by gathering. They are:
Board Members: Seth Rolbein and Ed McManus; Non-Board DJ: Ira Wood;
Community Advisory Board Member: Sheila House; and Community Representative: Richard Costello.
